    FLIR i50 or FLUKE Ti25

I want to buy an IR camera to provide electrical preventive maintenance services to the industries. I have selected FLIR i50 and FLUKE Ti25. Now I am very much confused and unable to decide between the two. So please guide me which one should I buy and suggest if there is any better option available. Is there any such thing that Fluke thermal detector can’t withstand direct sunlight but Flir detector can withstand it.

Re: FLIR i50 or FLUKE Ti25

Both are fine systems that can work well for this sort of application. NEITHER one, nor any other infrared camera, should be used to view the sun directly. We have an excellent recorded webinar (http://www.thesnellgroup.com/CourseDetails.aspx?id=56)  that should help you sort out your own needs and, importantly, understand what is important and what the various "specs" mean/don't mean. I would suggest you view this, write down your needs and budget, and think of all your questions before talking with sales people so that you can let them do their job of informing you about their products.

Re: FLIR i50 or FLUKE Ti25

If you need information on the Fluke Ti25 beyond what you can find on our website or our brochures, please feel free to contact me via email or phone, and I will help understand your needs and give you the information that you desire.

The most important thing is to make sure that you get to use each of the imagers before purchasing.  A specification listed on paper, or information given over a telephone or website, does not always capture the subtle quality and performance differences that are often very important to your overall satisfaction and use.  It is important that YOU get an imager that works well for YOUR applications... regardless of who it comes from.

We have a free demo with a salesperson, or just sent out to you alone if you desire.  (I'm sure that the competition probably does as well.)

    Michael

Re: FLIR i50 or FLUKE Ti25

Deepak, as Michael Stuart said you should really use the two imagers before purchasing.  "Discussion" of differences will not generally yield real world performance differences.

Try and buy. Have Demo do not go by brochures?? trust demo..only

I suggest Flir T200 as I have seen both. Regarding Price of Ti25 I have no idea.

Software of Flir is much much better than that of Fluke use and buy.??

Ergonomics are better in all Flir Cameras.

If you need demo / comparison contact me in India.

Re: FLIR i50 or FLUKE Ti25

Prodigy ICI 7320There is a better option, the new ICI 7320 Prodigy or the ICI 7640 Prodigy.

If you would like to discuss the advantages of the Prodigy over the other cameras please call us at 1 866 861 -0788

I believe the Prodigy will beat the Flir and Fluke in almost every category including price.   It has a built in mini computer.  Nasa awarded the 7320 - product of the month for February, 2009!

Re: FLIR i50 or FLUKE Ti25

Do not go by words and paper specs try and buy..

Secondly your emphasis should also be on after sales support (locally available) including calibration check thru certified service center.

Also look for other credentials of the distributor you buy.

Re: FLIR i50 or FLUKE Ti25

    Mr. Deepak,

I forgot to specify that all US manufactured detectors used in Infrared cameras has to under go licensing process before shipped to India which is another problem (if you intend to purchase a unit with scanning frequency up to 30 Hz.).

If your application demands thermography for moving objects like motors, conveyers etc you should go for a unit with a better scanning frequency so that you do not miss any thermal anomaly during scan. As I am not completely aware of your application it is only a suggestion.

Re: FLIR i50 or FLUKE Ti25

At this point we are working with several new distributors worldwide, however I do not believe we have one in India as of yet - please email Jenny@infraredcamerasinc.com if you are interested in setting up distributorship.

Additionally, we offer demo's, rentals, and lease to own options for all our new infrared cameras. The 7320 S series runs at 9Hz for exporting without a license - the P-series runs at 50/60 Hz.  We are a full service ir camera company, we design, build, manufacture, calibrate, repair, and train.

    Thanks
