    ir in medicine

    Hi people,

I am a Chinese medicine practitioner (acupuncture and herbal medicine - 10 yrs) in the UK. Recently passing as level 1 thermographer and using a Flir camera I now begin a new and interesting career phase with my scanner. There is very little support in this country for ir medicine and am looking for any tips and pointers from wiley old ir sages!!!

Any advice or direction much appreciated. Cheers, Nick.

If you intend using thermography in medicine then you will need appropriate training. University of Glamorgan in the UK carry out such training each year at different academic locations in Europe. The most recent course was at Krakow, Poland as part of QIRT 2008 Conference at which I contributed a module on transducers. I have included a weblink which you should find very useful. There are also many publications that will help including the protocol of using a camera in medicine which can be found in the International Thermology Journal of which I am technical Editor. The next course is sponsored by the Romanian Government in Buckarest this coming September.

My intention is that we should run such a course in the USA and would ask that you support and promote such an event. Good luck
