    IR admissable as evidence in a construction defect case

    I just found this great site and the timing is perfect.

    I am looking for cases where infrared images have been admissible in a construction defect case.

    I searched Westlaw and found several cases where it was used medically and to find drug houses but not construction defect cases.

     Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Good morning Scott and welcome.  There is excellent advice to be found here. (I'm sure one of the providers of same will be along shortly....)

    In the mean time, another site you may want to visit is  www.nachi.org.  That site is aimed at home inspectors and includes a forum where, among other things, thermal imaging in support of client action is discussed.

    Cheers

    John,

    Thanks for the invite but I will have to pass.

    I know there are some good inspectors in NACHI but I have an issue with Nick G and since I am involved with ASHI every time I go to that site I get attacked by people who don't like ASHI.

    For those reasons I choose to avoid that site.

    Thanks again.

    Hi guys;

    An attorney who practices in our industry has stated (maybe even on this site) that if your images were captured during a blower-door test, they represent the worst-case scenario and you should not expect them to hold up in court.
