I have decided to go in for the purchase of M4 Model for building diagnostics.These is used in india.Major of our strucutres consists of concrete /brick works and cement mortar and for bautification tiling painting and attractive flooring.I would like to use for the condition leakage /sepage /dampness at terrace flooring area /toilet block -wash room / dead wall /kitchen floor etc.Please let me know how far  iwould be successfull in my attempt.

Make sure the software works for you. Also there are other 160x120 units in a more conventional form factor that are cheaper. Try the H160 line from GSAT it should be available in India.

Thank you very much for your prompt reply.I would like to understand that if cracks are visible on R.C.C. columns /beams /slab ?  Is it possible to investigate or find out the depth of  the cracks with RAZIR camera .Well we are aware of ( GPS) ground penetratng system,but since it is costly and time consuming we would not like to venture into. 

Further is it possible to visualise the water seepage /leakage in wash room /kitchen area .This area slab thickness is normally about 6.6 inhc over it there is bedding material of sand with .05% of cement over which the glazed tiles are fixed.

We in india have terrace slab which is flat over which there 3/4inch bedding material of sand cement mortar which borken bricks are laid at 3/4inch C:C this open space is filled with cement mortar having thickness of 35 to 40 mm depending upon the area of terrace and the rain water outlet provided.I would like to use the RAZ IR camera for the insepction of crack development /depthness of it /and the source of water developemnt.

I do not think that a thermal imaging camera is the best method for determining the depth of cracks in concrete. I think it is would be useful to detect and determine the extend and source of water seepage. However you will need  a good thermal contrast for this and in areas with high ambients and little day to day temperature change this may be a problem. Also  I think that your surface title  will also cause a problem in so fare as it  is not a porous material and may mask the damp concrete beneath.

I do agree with you but i am very optimistic in my aproach.Well the tiles thickness  ( 4mm to 6 mm max ) in the wash rooms /toilet block areas and one side of wall is facing the external facia of peripherial wall.from where the outlet connection is conected for the waste to be drained out.If not possible to detect the leakage from top but it should be visible from the botom that is floor below where you can see the plastered slab.May be Partial heating with xenon lamp also may give us the desired results.Any way, i would keep you posted about the results /finding of the inspection carried out during monsoon.

I agree if it is a multi story building detection from the floor below will be much easier. Have you looked into x-ray for you crack problem?
