    Propane tank

    Attachment: p5_IR.jpg
I snapped this image while filling my BBQ tank.  I was just looking at the liquid level but when I put it on the computer I was wondering if I should be able to see a vapor gas line.  I don't know the dynamics of what goes on inside a propane tank, should I be able to see a vapor line or just liquid?  I was pushing that "time of day" also.

    Re: Propane tank

Are you talking about the tank in the back ground or the fork lift? I do see the seat in the forklift with the heat signature underneath it. I suspect that would be from the Battery. The Tank behind the Fork lift shows very good level line in it and would not expect to see the Vapor line. May be some one else could chime in.

The question was directed towards the large upright propane tank behind the forklift.  I don't see any other definite thermal patterns and the temperature readings were consistent from the liquid level up.  I took another image of a propane tank that was a little more full and didn't see any thing there.  I don't know if I should or not.  I will probably go back and take some better images due to the fact I had 20 people waiting around at the BBQ waiting on me.

I spoke with the Safety Manager, he said there should only be liquid and gas propane in the tank.  If I saw anything else to let him know (which I don't).  On this image there was a 4*F delta T between liquid and gas level, the rest was <1*F.  What the heck...........at least I booked him for some more work!!!!
