I thought that maybe if one of you guys could help me sort this one out:

I own an old Inframetrics PM290. In order to view it on a TV I use a certain BNC cable I was given with the camera.

The thing is - the only ability for me to plug a BNC cable to the TV is using a BNC->Composite adapter, which results in a poor image on the TV.

I was aware to a certain plug in the camera that has a text above it saying "S-Video", but I was not given one. Also, the plug in the camera doesn't quite look like a standard S-Video plug.

I've attached a photo of the plugs on the camera. Can any of you help me to somehow get a hold of that unique S-Video cable?

Someone reading this may have a spare as there are still many of these systems around and many more that are around and not working anymore. You could also call FLIR in Billerica, MA; they no longer actively service this system but may have spares in stock. You should be able to use the VIDEO out jack, which also requires a special "limo" connector and connect it to any VIDEO IN port on a TV or video projector. We do this and get excellent results.

This is a great camera if it is still working correctly! Cool down to operation should be 8-10 minutes; if longer than that, the cooler is beginning to fail. I've heard that FLIR is buying used units for spare parts but you should verify that if you are looking to sell it.

I already have the small connector (the one that fits into the "VIDEO" plug).

I didn't know that it is called "limo connector". I've searched information about "limo connector" and didn't find a thing. Are you sure that it's the right technical name for it?

Anyway, as it said, I already have it. But I believe that since the camera has an S-Video plug, then if I use it in a S-Video device (such as an LCD monitor) I would get a whole lot better quality (S-Video is a lot better than a composite connection). You can also see clearly that the bnc/composite lacks quality and has a lot of noise in it. I usually use the camera with customers and it's important for me to get a high quality picture.

Anyway i'm just trying to find out the technical term for the connection that is used for that S-Video plug on the image i've attached.
 

It is Lemo, so that is why your are having trouble finding it.
